Sai university (SSSIHL) administrators should follow the path laid by Gangadhar Bhat sir in publicly expressing regret over mistakes done by following Narasimhamurthy

My recent post, Tyagajeevi and Chairman of Loka Seva Trust, Gangadhar Bhat, regrets illegal 12/9/2012 trust deed amendment action, in court affidavit,, captures the stunning turnaround of Gangadhar Bhat (GB) sir, elderly Tyagajeevi (about 86 years age) and chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust. After nearly four and a half years of associating with Narasimhamurthy & others of so called subtle body Muddenahalli group (which later included so called communicator, Madhusudan Naidu), GB sir clearly states in a court affidavit, that he was misled by Sri B.N. Narasimha Murthy (BNNM) and others. I think this action of GB sir will help Alike (and later Muddenahalli) school to recover from the HIJACK by Narasimhamurthy & Madhusudan Naidu and group, and get back to the path of Sathya & Dharma as taught by our beloved Lord, Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. GB sir has let the truth be known to Sathya Sai fraternity by this brave act of his (it takes great courage to publicly express regret and accept one's big mistakes).

The Sai university (Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning/SSSIHL) underwent a period of HIJACK from around July 2011 to Nov. 2014, when it was heavily under the influence of Sri B.N. Narasimha Murthy (BNNM). Its vice-chancellor then, Prof. Sashidhara Prasad, accepted BNNM as the spiritual successor to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba (Swami) even though the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust which is the mother trust responsible for the running of the Sai university and meeting all its expenses, DID NOT ACCEPT BNNM as the successor to Swami! It is only when Sashidhara Prasad stepped down in Nov. 2014 that the Sai university slowly started getting out of the influence of BNNM and Muddenahalli group.

However, there has been no public confession or regret expressed by any Sai university administrator regarding this HIJACK period!!! They act and behave as if nothing wrong happened!!! It is a truly extraordinary COVER-UP operation.

My considered view is that for the proper re-establishment of Sathya & Dharma in the Sai university, the happenings in the period of Asathya & Adharma from Jul 2011 to Nov. 2014 when the Sai university came under the dominance of BNNM and his follower, vice-chancellor Sashidhara Prasad, should be publicly shared with Sai fraternity. Key administrators of Sai university and its Prasanthi Nilayam campus (and other campuses too, if appropriate) should make public statements about this period giving details about the happenings, expressing their regret where appropriate.

There are many questions about what happened in this period of Asathya & Adharma in the Sai university. Questions about this period should be gathered from key figures like Prof. Anilkumar Kamaraju and Prof. Krupanidhi (former Dean of sciences), veteran faculty of Sai university, both of whom are no longer associated with the Sai university and faced harassment and humiliation from SSSIHL administrators in 2011-12.

Given below are the key questions from my viewpoint with respect to this period (July 2011 to Nov. 2014).

1) Was B.N. Narasimhamurthy (BNNM) interacting with Vice-chancellor (VC), Registrar, Controller of Examinations of Sai university and Director & Joint Director of Prasanthi Nilayam campus and other campuses, as well as some Head of Departments (HODs)? If so, what were those interactions? Did BNNM interfere with "Swami instructions" on key decisions involving Sai university, especially its staffing?

2) Who were involved in the decision making and decision implementation of removal of Prof. Anilkumar Kamaraju (asking him to resign) from the Sai university? Was this matter discussed in formal meetings of the university? If so, the minutes of those meetings including the participants in those meetings, should be publicly shared with the Sai fraternity.

3) When HOD DMACS Chandrasekaran abused his power to prevent me (Ravi S. Iyer, then FREE SERVICE visiting faculty in DMACS) from doing ACADEMIC WORK on the Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini project, why did VC and Registrar stay silent? Did Chandrasekaran seek the support of BNNM in this matter and did BNNM interefere? Did the VC and Registrar interact with BNNM and get "Swami instructions" on the matter?

4) [This question deals with Sashidhara Prasad's direct action against me. He may not co-operate in an inquiry. But I felt it appropriate to mention the question.] Did VC Shasidhara Prasad speak to BNNM prior to (and after) his second meeting with me in the vice-chancellor's chambers, where he shouted at me at the top of his voice as soon as I entered his chambers, as if I had done some criminal act by opposing HOD Chandrasekaran's Asathya & Adharma instructions to me?? (HOD Chandrasekaran wanted me to STOP associating with Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini project.) If so, what did BNNM tell him?

5) I had not mentioned this matter earlier as I felt it to be somewhat minor. But I think in the interest of documenting the matter fully from my perspective I should mention it now. In July 2011, there was a big wave of salary increase (sixth pay commission) as well as regularisation of posts for almost all staff in the Sai university. One particular day shortly after this regularisation and salary increase (if I recall correctly), I got some correspondence (paper, not electronic) forwarded by then director of Prasanthi Nilayam campus, Prof. Sudhir Bhaskar, which was delivered to my desk in the Sai university. Most, if not all, of this correspondence dealt with education field in general (as against specific Computer Science or other academic specialization field). I was also referred to as Dr. Ravi S. Iyer (or perhaps it was Dr. Ravi Iyer) in the jottings made by Sudhir Bhaskar on that (paper) correspondence forwarded to me.

If I recall correctly, shortly afterwards my fight with the HOD over my refusal to follow his Asathya and Adharma instructions to stay away from Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini project, led to things breaking down between the HOD and me, the VC Sashidhara Prasad humiliating me etc. all in July 2011, due to which I cut down my interactions with Sai university to only around one hour a week to help an M.Tech. CS project student who depended on me for technical consultancy guidance.

So the questions I have in this regard are: Was I given a Ph.D in education or something like that and a regular academic designation by Sai university in July 2011, but which had not yet been informed to me, and which got withdrawn due to my refusal to follow Asathya-Adharma instructions of DMACS HOD Chandrasekaran? Note that in July 2011 I had done FREE SERVICE for eight years in the Sai unviersity, teaching lab. courses, guiding M.Tech. and M.Sc. projects as well as being co-author of two published academic papers, besides my prior 18 years international software industry experience. If I was given a Ph.D. and an academic designation, was BNNM involved with "Swami instructions" to withdraw them? Did Chandrasekaran, BNNM, Sashidhara Prasad, Registrar Naren Ramji, and Director, PN campus Sudhir Bhaskar conspire against me as I refused to follow Asathya & Adharma instructions of HOD Chandrasekaran to disassociate with Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini project?

BTW whether I would have accepted any Ph.D. as well as any regular academic designation given to me by Sai university, is a different matter which I do not want to elaborate here.

6) In March 2012 when Naren Ramji tried to BULLY ME in the Registrar's office by saying that he had given me a Visiting Faculty designation letter in June/July 2011 just like that (or words to that effect) and that I was a Seva Dal, was he acting under "Swami instructions" from BNNM??? BTW this was the meeting which led to my final act of termination of my association with the Sai university.

That finishes my list of questions.

I would also like to say that I think it is the bounden duty of Sai university administrators in the above mentioned period July 2011 to Nov. 2014 to share the truth of what happened, with the Sai fraternity PUBLICLY. Some of these administrators were paid good salaries (after salary hike and perhaps promotion in July 2011, the Joint Director of Prasanthi Nilayam campus got Rs. 1 Lakh per month as salary according to reliable sources). Now these salaries were not paid from government funds. They were paid from interest earning of Sathya Sai devotee contributed corpus to Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust or its sister Trusts!!! From Bhaktula Sommu (money-treasure (contributions) of devotees), as Bhagavan is reported to have said!!

Now one does not grudge these salaries paid to staff. One has to pay decent money to recruit good quality staff. But then those who have received these salaries (from Sathya Sai fraternity money contributions) MUST DO THEIR DUTY to the Sathya Sai fraternity by PUBLICLY REVEALING what happened in the HIJACK period in Sai university from Jul. 2011 to Nov. 2014.

The current vice-chancellor of Sai university, Prof. K.B.R. Varma, is a distinguished scientist. One does not grudge the high salary (at least Rs. 2 Lakhs per month) he has been paid from Dec. 2014 onwards (he took over in Nov. end 2014). However, my considered view is that Prof. Varma should do his duty to the Sathya Sai fraternity whose contributions essentially have paid his salary since Dec. 2014, and are continuing to do so now, by conducting an inquiry about this HIJACK of Sai university by BNNM and former VC Sashidhara Prasad which was supported by some other Sai university administrators. The inquiry report should then be shared PUBLICLY with the Sathya Sai fraternity.

Let Gangadhar Bhat sir's great and courageous Sathya & Dharma action in publicly acknowledging his big mistake in associating with Narasimhamurthy (after Narasimhamurthy claimed to get Swami instructions in July 2011), be the guiding light for Sai university's vice-chancellor KBR Varma and other Sai university administrators for public acknowledgement of the mistakes committed in Sai university in the period July 2011 to Nov. 2014 when it got HIJACKED by B.N. Narasimhamurthy and Sashidhara Prasad.

Jai Sairam!
