Ramana Maharishi quotes on: who I truly am, body within the self, and no fourth state but only one state (reality) of consciousness

Given below are quotes of Ramana Maharishi.

From :

"Do not cling to the form of the Guru for this will perish;
do not cling to His feet for His attendants will stop you.

The true Bhagavan resides in your heart as your true Self.

This is who I truly am."

 - Living By The Words of Bhagavan

From :

"The body is within the self.

And yet one thinks one is inside the inert body,
like some spectator who supposes that the screen on which the picture is thrown
is within the picture."

 - Five Verses on the Self: 3

From :

"Existence or consciousness is the only reality.

Consciousness plus waking, we call waking.

Consciousness plus sleep, we call sleep.

Consciousness plus dream, we call dream.

Consciousness is the screen on which all the pictures come and go.

The screen is real, the pictures are mere shadows on it.

Because by long habit we have been regarding these three states as real,
we call the state of mere awareness or consciousness as the fourth.

There is however no fourth state, but only one state."

 - Day By Day, 11-1-46 [11th January 1946]

Ravi: Note that the fourth state is referred to as the Turiya state. From "In Hindu philosophy, turiya (Sanskrit: तुरीय, meaning "the fourth") or caturiya, chaturtha, is pure consciousness. Turiya is the background that underlies and transcends the three common states of consciousness. The [Ravi: three common] states of consciousness are: waking consciousness, dreaming, and dreamless sleep."
