Miscellaneous Facebook posts & comments in November 2020

When author of post or comment is not mentioned, it should be assumed that it is me (Ravi S. Iyer). To save time, I am usually not providing my FB post links but only contents. I am also not hyperlinking links. So readers will have to copy-paste links from this post onto a browser link box and then browse to that link. ========================================== Good to see this faith in God flowering in Russia, in various ways with Hinduism (I think the shared post is of ISKCON sect) being one of them. Shared FB post: https://www.facebook.com/HinduRuss/posts/1233549617031936 ------------------------ I am very saddened to know about the passing away of Shri Sudhakar Ram of Mastek/Majesco. From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudhakar_Ram "Sudhakar Ram (8 September 1960 – 8 November 2020), was the Group CEO and Managing Director of Mastek, a software company. He was awarded CNBC Asia's ‘India Business Leader of the Year’ in 2007." During the days I was a technical consultant

Two inspiring and joyous discourse video clips of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba - 20th Oct. 2002 and 4th Nov. 2002

Today is Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's birthday. So I am going down memory lane reliving some of the joy and inspiration I was blessed to receive from my beloved and revered Gurudev, Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. I moved to Puttaparthi in beginning of Oct. 2002, after having retired from commercial work in end Aug. 2002, and was offering voluntary service (not staff) in Prasanthi Nilayam ashram (Radio Sai and Book Trust) during the period of the two discourse clips given below, one of which is from 20th Oct. 2002 discourse and another from 4th Nov. 2002. These discourse clips revive memories of basking in the wonderful spiritual ambience Bhagavan's physical presence and discourses would create in Sai Kulwant Hall. He would start by referring to us devotees as Premaswarupulaara (embodiments of love) or Divyaswarupulaara (embodiments of divinity). That itself was so inspirational. The Avatar of the age declaring that all of us (our reality) are embodiments of love and divinity!

Interesting Amitabh Bachchan 1984 interview where he talks about his Sabarimala, Swami Ayyappa pilgrimage

Image
[The actual interview starts after around 4 mins into the video.] Amitabh Bachchan 1984 Interview (in Hindi), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLRfoO3gYR0 . Around 6 mins. 28 secs. into the video, the discussion turns to Amitabh Bachchan's doing Sabarimala pilgrimage. I was not aware of him having done this pilgrimage and so was pleasantly surprised but could not really believe it at first viewing of the video. I thought maybe I had not understood it correctly! Amitabh explains the 41 day fast that has to be done for Sabarimala, Swami Ayyappa pilgramage to the reporter (perhaps from Canada). The reporter asks Amitabh in a very surprised tone whether he conformed to all the requirements that he explained for the 41 day fast and Amitabh says "Jee ha" - Yes (madam)! I tried to dig up some more info. about this Sabarimala pilgrimage that he did.  This tweet photo (black-and-white pic) shows Amitabh with the Irumudikkettu on his head! - https://twitter.com/VikasbansalEF/status
