Comparison of History Timeline Bar Charts of Shirdi and Puttaparthi Dynasty/Kingdom rulers from 1000 AD to 2000 AD
Last minor update on 10th Jan. 2023
The same Sai divinity came as Shirdi Sai Baba Avatar based in Shirdi, Maharashtra from mid 19th century to early 20th century ( believed to have come to Shirdi as 16 year old lad in 1854 and died in 1918, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sai_Baba_of_Shirdi ), and then as Sathya Sai Baba Avatar based in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh from early 20th century to early 21st century (born 1926 and died 2011, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sathya_Sai_Baba ).
How these two Sai Avatars lived their lives and preached their messages is interesting to compare and contrast. The underlying message of both the Sai Avatars is the same - God being one with various religions like Hinduism, Islam and Christianity being different paths to the same one God, having faith in God (and his miraculous power to help his devotees) and praying to him, being truthful, ethical (Dharmic) and loving towards others including animals etc. But Shirdi Sai Baba wore the dress of a Muslim fakir and said "Allah Maalik" (Allah is the Lord/Owner) frequently and Sathya Sai Baba usually wore the orange robe of a Hindu sannyasi and preached often about Hindu divine figures like Shiva, Rama and Krishna, and about Vedas including the Upanishads. Both Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba encouraged and had (and have) devotees from various faiths including Hinduism and Islam (and in case of Sathya Sai Baba at least, Christianity), and preached peaceful and loving co-existence between followers of various religions.
I feel that knowing the history of rulers/kingdoms going back a millennium, of the areas where they lived and preached, would help to better understand their lives and teachings when viewed together as Sai Avatars. That is why I invested time in reading up about this history and putting up posts on them like my previous and recent posts on Shirdi area history of rulers. I put up the public posts instead of keeping it as only private info. with me, as I thought it may be of interest to some readers.
Here is a pic having both Shirdi and Puttaparthi history timeline bar charts of rulers of 2nd millennium AD (1000 to 2000 AD) with the scale of the single stacked bar being the same for both Shirdi and Puttaparthi history bars and common rulers across both charts having bar segments of same colour, which makes it easy for us to compare and contrast them. Additionally, each bar enables us to know this history at a glance.
