Photos of Prasanthi Nilayam ashram in early days
The Facebook post, https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=438065856383418&id=208234329366573, by FB user Old Mandir-Puttaparthi, dated Feb. 11th 2016, gives interesting early history of Prasanthi Nilayam ashram along with some pics.
I took the liberty of sharing some of those pics on this blog post:
The completed Prasanthi Nilayam mandir. It seems to have been completed around 1950. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba announced its name as Prasanthi Nilayam on 23rd Nov. 1950 in his 25th Birthday discourse.
The above pic seems to have been taken while Prasanthi Nilayam finishing touches had not been given. Note that Prasanthi Nilayam ashram foundation stone, according to the Facebook post mentioned above, was laid by Bhagavan on January 14th, 1948. The entrance arch signboard says in Telugu, "Sri Bhagavan SathyaSai Prasanthi Nilayamu".
This shows Prasanthi Nilayam with the finishing touches.
[I thank Facebook user Old Mandir - Puttaparthi and have presumed that they will not have any objections to me sharing the above pics from their Facebook pages on this post which is freely viewable by all, and does not have any financial profit motive whatsoever.]
