Great physicists view of Vedas/Vedanta; Schrodinger: ATMAN = BRAHMAN considered in Indian thought to be not blasphemous but deepest insight; Oppenheimer: Access to Vedas greatest privilege of 20th century

Erwin Schrodinger, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erwin_Schr%C3%B6dinger, one of the Quantum Physics greats, Nobel prize winner (1933), said, ".. the recognition ATMAN = BRAHMAN (the personal self equals the omnipresent, all-comprehending eternal self) was in Indian thought considered, far from being blasphemous, to represent the quintessence of deepest insight into the happenings of the world" - Ref: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Erwin_Schr%C3%B6dinger.

Robert Oppenheimer, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Robert_Oppenheimer, a theoretical physics scientist, and one of the persons viewed as 'father of the atomic bomb' who also worked a lot for nuclear non-proliferation later on, said, "Access to the Vedas is the greatest privilege this century may claim over all previous centuries.", Ref: https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/j_robert_oppenheimer_386571. Note that he is referring to the 20th century.

Ravi: I had not come across this quote of his earlier. As I think about it, Oppenheimer's statement seems to be a great truth! After having delved quite a bit into history, including Indian history, one thing is clear - in the 19th century (1800s), access to Vedas would have been very, very limited to some persons from the Brahmin class, in general. And among those people too, there would have been specializations on different parts of the Vedas.

From the 20th century onwards, the Vedas started becoming available to whoever is interested and has some money power to locate and buy the books on it. And now in the 21st century, all one needs is an Internet connection and an Internet browser device to access not only all the Vedas but also other key Hindu scripture like the Puranas (e.g. Bhagavat Purana having accounts of Avatars), Itihasas (e.g. Ramayana & Mahabharata with Bhagavad Gita being part of Ramayana), Brahma Sutra etc.

From that point of view, people of our times who are interested in Hindu scripture (like me) are very fortunate people indeed.
