Sathya Sai conveyed to Narasimhamurthy: Gates of Prashanti Nilayam are open for anybody who wants to come in and serve, and also open for anybody who wants to leave

I was told by a fairly reliable source that when Narasimhamurthy was warden of Prasanthi Nilayam campus of Sai university (in Puttaparthi), a few decades ago, he was finding it difficult to do that duty (for whatever reason). So he informed Swami (Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba) via another person that he would like to be relieved of warden duties and that he was willing to do any other duty, no matter how menial the work was - even if it was cleaning toilets in Prasanthi Nilayam. [Ravi: I have shared the last part to show how willing Narasimhamurthy was, in terms of dedication. I am not sharing it in a negative of Narasimhamurthy way. I am deeply appreciative of this willingness, in words at least, expressed by Narasimhamurthy then, to do the most menial of work in Prasanathi Nilayam. That is a hallmark of a great spiritual aspirant.]

Swami asked this person to convey the following (not exact words, I think) to Narasimhamurthy, and which was conveyed to Narasimhamurthy: The gates of Prashanti Nilayam are open for anybody who wants to come in and serve, and the gates are also open for anybody who wants to leave.

Swami did not want anything further to be said to Narasimhamurthy.

Sometime later Narasimhamurthy was removed from warden position of Prasanthi Nilayam campus of Sai university (the trigger seems to have been the TV big screen matter which I have written about elsewhere). Later though, he seems to have been called to take up warden position in Brindavan campus of Sai university.

Shri B.N. Narasimhamurthy is a very strange case. I think Narasimhamurthy had doubt about Sathya Sai divinity. I think Narasimhamurthy could not come to terms with Sathya Sai. Therefore he was, and continues to be, spiritually confused about Sathya Sai divinity.

In Brindavan campus, Narasimhamurthy is said to have called himself King, perhaps half-jocularly but perhaps half-seriously. After Sathya Sai gave up his physical form, Narasimhamurthy had become a King without a Kingdom!

But Narasimhamurthy seems to have desperately desired to be King now of a bigger place than just Brindavan campus of SSSIHL. And that paved the way for the tragic spiritual fall of Narasimhamurthy. The man who was called Vivekananda by Swami in the 1970s or 1980s behaved in a very un-Vivekananda way. Swami Vivekananda, as far as I know, is not known to have claimed to be a dream-instruction communicator of his master, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, after Ramakrishna gave up his physical body. And neither did Vivekanada promote any disciple of his to be a so called chosen communicator of a so called subtle body of Ramakrishna NOR promote any disciple of his as having assumed the body of Ramakrishna.

After Mahasamadhi of Sathya Sai, had Narasimhamurthy followed the example of Vivekananda, he would have set up his own spiritual institution and preached in ****his own name**** claiming inspiration from Sathya Sai and perhaps his earlier mentor, the revered Shri Madiyal Narayan Bhat (a great Tyagajeevi and a spiritual leader working for uplift of society, I believe). If Narasimhamurthy would have done that, for sure I would not have put up any critical posts on him. Instead I would have respectfully praised him for his continued service to society in a Sathya-Dharma way.

In the history of Sathya Sai movement, no matter how many free educational institutions Narasimhamurthy may set up and be the chief mentor of, and even if he gets feted by Vice-President of India for these free educational institutions, Narasimhamurthy will be known as somebody who went against the teachings and instructions of his Guru Sathya Sai, got spiritually lost by promoting an imposter (Madhusudan Rao Naidu) as Sathya Sai, and thereby misled thousands of his Guru Sathya Sai's devotees into believing the claim of the imposter. He did droham (damage) to his own Guru's memories and legacy. He became a Guru Drohi of Sathya Sai! What a tragic fall for one who was referred to as Vivekananda at one time, by Sathya Sai!

My apologies to Narasimhamurthy and his followers, and others who love him, for the hurt this post may cause them. But given the great Asathya-Adharma damage Narasimhamurthy has done and continues to do, in the Sathya Sai movement worldwide, I feel it is my unpleasant duty towards my beloved Gurudev Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and the Sathya Sai fraterntiy, for all that I have gained from them both, to share the above mentioned private incident btw Sathya Sai and Narasimhamurthy, and my views, in this post.
