Lean on me, when you're not strong - Great Live rendition by Stephen Hill and others
Here's a great live rendition of 'Lean on me', the evergreen song, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpzkiFeblzA, around 5 and a half minutes, published Aug. 2012. It is sung by Christian singer (and ordained Baptist minister), Stephen Hill, http://www.stephenhillmusic.com/bio.php & http://www.homecomingmagazine.com/article/remembering-stephen-hill/, with a chorus of seemingly eminent Christian singers but whom I could not recognize (except Wintley Phipps). I love this song as it has such a brotherly help tone to it, and felt that it would not be inappropriate if I put up this post on my spiritual blog.
I think I first heard the original song sometime in the 80s and liked it immediately. This video (with still picture), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEXQkrllGbA, 4 min 19 secs., sounds like the song I used to hear in the 80s.
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lean_on_Me_(song):
"Lean on Me" is a song written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Bill Withers. It was released in April 1972 as the first single from his second album, Still Bill. It was his first and only number one single on both the soul singles and the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard ranked it as the No. 7 song of 1972. It is ranked number 205 on Rolling Stone 's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time"

Here are the lyrics of the song as sung in the video:
Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
So won't you please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show
(Chorus start)
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
(Chorus end)
If there is a load that you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
And I'll share your load
If you just call me
Just call me (if you need a friend)
Call me (call me)
Call me (call me)
Call me (call me)
...
(Chorus start)
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
We all need somebody to lean on
We all need somebody to lean on
(Lean on me)
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
We all need somebody to lean on
We all need somebody to lean on
(Chorus end)
