Miscellaneous Facebook posts & comments in or around Sept. 2022

When author of post or comment is not mentioned, it should be assumed that it is me (Ravi S. Iyer).

To save time, I am usually not providing my FB post links but only contents. I am also not hyperlinking links. So readers may have to copy-paste links from this post onto a browser link box and then browse to that link.

Interesting video with the American Swami Tadatmananda (based in New Jersey, USA) communicating very well.

Buddhism vs Advaita Vedanta—What's the Difference?, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq2eukYfRoA , around 15 mins. published on Oct 13, 2020 by Arsha Bodha Center - Swami Tadatmananda.

He does not say anything about miraculous power of God and how God responds, at times at least, to earnest prayer of devotees.

I don't know whether Advaita Vedanta also covers the miraculous power of God and how it intervenes in human affairs at times, usually in response to earnest prayer of devotees. But then Vedanta is a part of the Vedas and the Vedas surely cover the miraculous power of God and God's response to earnest prayer of devotees.

So in a more complete comparison and contrast between Buddhism and Hinduism (not just Advaita Vedanta), the miraculous power of God aspect has to be addressed, IMHO.

For my own interests, I am in final stages of preparation of a note on "Chronological list of dynastic rulers of Penukonda (and so Puttaparthi) from 1121 CE (Western Chalukya dynasty days) based on Wikipedia". This note has summary information.

[Update: The following question got answered positively by one person and another person also seemed to have expressed interest. So I put up the Summary post here: https://www.facebook.com/ravi.s.iyer.7/posts/pfbid0zN6jkXCmyWrTM2KveFchhaC85n4yFLCTK1Xr2CmDJm18TDQ84oPRtCtvZauh6PUJl .  end-Update]

Should I publish the summary information note which does not get into sensitive details? I thought I will check first if some readers are interested in this. If they express their interests via comments then I will publish the summary information note. Otherwise I will keep it as a private note.

[Update: Deleted rest of post to avoid duplication with above mentioned post. I chose to retain this question post as a stub post as it has comment exchanges.]

In the gross material world, yes, there is nothing permanent but change.

But, IMHO, the Atma and Paramatma (of which Atma is a part like a water drop is part of the ocean) are permanent when it comes to more complete view of reality. Perhaps, at a deeper existential level, one can say there is nothing permanent except the Atma and Paramatma.
